TMF SALUTES HEALTHCARE WORKERS & OUR SHINING ALUMS

20th April 2020

Hello Friends,

We hope that each one of you is safe. During these unprecedented times of coronavirus spreading around the world, we at Tech Mahindra Foundation, stand in solidarity and express our heartfelt gratitude towards the healthcare workers and the essential service providers who have stepped up to meet the ever-changing demands that this crisis brings. We are proud to share that some of our trained paramedics are helping India fight COVID-19.

Today, we would like to share the story of Sonal Chavan, our SMART Academy alumnus. Daughter of a house help and a driver, Sonal always knew that due to financial constraints, she is expected to support her family at an early age. However, she did not want to settle for something she wasn’t passionate about and therefore enrolled herself in the short term General Duty Assistant course at the SMART Academy for Healthcare in Mumbai. Recently, she completed her course and joined at Seven Hills Hospital, Mumbai. While sharing her feelings, she humbly said “When I was undergoing training and received the PPE kit, that was the moment when tears rolled down my face and I felt like I have achieved something. It’s also my family who have permitted me to take up the job as my father says that your first priority should always be patient’s care.”

We also connected with Chanchal, our student from SMART Healthcare Academy in Delhi, who is currently working as an Operation Theatre Technician at Safdarjung Hospital. A confident Chanchal said, “I am proud of myself for being able to contribute to the fight against COVID-19. I would like to thank Tech Mahindra SMART Academy for Healthcare for training me well and making me capable of working in all sorts of environments.”

It is heartening to see our students serve the nation. Join us as we wish for the well being of corona warriors of India and salute their commitment to serve in times of crisis.

Stay Connected and Stay Positive!

Warm regards,
Tech Mahindra Foundation
