Thousands of volunteers shovelled soil, and planted saplings in an effort to make their cities green. The nation’s future is greener and healthier thanks to 6500 volunteers who turned up for “Rise for Green” plantation initiative.

Volunteers planted more than 30,000 saplings at 4 locations throughout the country. Keeping in mind the local climate and soil different saplings were planted at different locations.

“This year we planted trees that consume less water and can bear fruits,” said Vijay Wavare, Pune Location Manager.

At Hyderabad large shade trees were planted – Neem, Mango, Guava, Jamun to name a few.

Volunteers in Pune People could join the effort by planting trees inside the campus, in

the nearby villages or carrying it to be put outside their homes.

“It’s a great opportunity to give back to society,” said Dilip Mathur, a volunteer from Pune.

“It’s a fun thing to do,” said Shweta Mahapatra, a volunteer from Bhubaneswar.

“I like the experience of planting trees, there’s a nice community element to it,” said VN Chary, a volunteer from Hyderabad.

“It’s a good thing to do with a lot of people” said Richa Gautam, a volunteer from Noida.

It’s humbling to see Associates, Location Councils, JOSH, WOW, Green Marshal and local communities come together for the campaign. Thank you for your commitment and energy!
