22nd August 2016

With great zeal, we are excited to share that our “Rise for Green” was a great success. Thousands of volunteers shovelled soil and planted saplings in an effort to make their cities green. The nation’s future is greener and healthier thanks to 6500 volunteers who turned up for the “Rise for Green” tree plantation initiative.

Our Tech Mahindra associates planted more than 30,000 saplings across 4 locations in India. Keeping in mind the local climate and soil different saplings were planted at different locations.

At Hyderabad, large shade trees were planted – Neem, Mango, Guava, Jamun to name a few. Volunteers in Pune People could join the effort by planting trees inside the campus, inthe nearby villages or carrying it to be put outside their homes.

Sharing a few words from our associates who volunteered at the plantation drive:

“This year we planted trees that consume less water and can bear fruits,” said Vijay Wavare, Pune Location Manager and volunteer.

“It’s a great opportunity to give back to society,” said Dilip Mathur, a volunteer from Pune.

“It’s a fun thing to do,” said Shweta Mahapatra, a volunteer from Bhubaneswar.

“I like the experience of planting trees, there’s a nice community element to it,” said VN Chary, a volunteer from Hyderabad.

“It’s a good thing to do with a lot of people,” said Richa Gautam, a volunteer from Noida.

It’s humbling to see Associates, Location Councils, JOSH, WOW, Green Marshal and local communities come together for the campaign.

Thank you for your commitment and energy!

Warm Regards,
Tech Mahindra Foundation
