Volunteering and Community Work

As a corporate social arm, Tech Mahindra Foundation offers a wide range of corporate volunteering opportunities for Tech Mahindra Limited (TML) associates through its various programs and projects spread across India. At TML, employee volunteering in CSR is considered to be the ‘Way of Life’ where they strive to contribute their time in the most effective way. In fact, volunteering at Tech Mahindra is one of the driving factors contributing to employees’ social and emotional well-being. The ultimate objective of employee volunteering in CSR is to inspire others to find meaning and joy in giving back to society. The Foundation helps in creating several CSR volunteering opportunities for TML employees to participate and contribute their time in societal causes such as participation in school wall painting, blood donation campaigns, tree plantation drives, Swachchta Abhiyaan, teaching young children, and so on.

‘It all started during the initial days of Lockdown from the first week of April 2020, Sarosh from Tech-M called me one evening at around 10:00pm. He informed about 4 labours in our vicinity area of Kamshet, hungry and striving hard in search of food since past 2 days. Me, along with my mom and young brother went immediately with food prepared from our home to rescue them. The next day, again Sarosh called to help 40 labours looking for food at a village 20 kms from my residence. I went to them with food grains and shared my contact for any further help. Very soon, I started getting calls from people from various nearby villages, in need of food to survive. One such incidence included when I got a call for helping a whole village of 300 people in need of food, at that time, I sought crowd funding from our Sparsh team of Tech-M, where we prepared food grain kits including basic food items. Within a few days people approached me to help 3 more villages, then we realized scarcity of funds to get food-grain kits. This was the time when Kalpana ma’am and team TMF came as a shining ray of hope for helping us out. They helped us out in mobilizing and streamlining the cause.’
