Shafiya Shaikh belongs to a humble background in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. However, despite the financial challenges at her home, Shafiya has been a child who never stopped dreaming big.
As she came in contact with Tech Mahindra Foundation’s partner organisation, Lighthouse NGO, she received a scholarship to walk down her choice of path. Going through the scope of a decent future in the healthcare sector, she decided to join Tech Mahindra SMART Academy for Healthcare in Pune. She completed her training in General Duty Assistant course and buckled up for a new chapter of her life. She made through the selection process for ‘Supervisor’ at a prestigious hospital.
Presently, Shafiya is happily employed there and feels proud to take care of her family. She says, “After joining the course at SMART Academy for Healthcare in Pune, I could learn various tools and procedures that helped me gain practical knowledge of my subject. I am thankful to Tech Mahindra Foundation for supporting me to stand on my feet and become financially independent”.
