Nisha Kumari’s Skilling Journey Towards Success 1

Nisha Kumari

A former student of SPID SMART Centre, Delhi

Nisha grew up in Uttam Nagar, Delhi with her mother, three sisters, and a brother. Her mother worked as an ironing vendor to sustain their family. Faced with early difficulties, Nisha wanted to change their circumstances. When she came to know about the Customer Relationship & Sales (CRS) course offered by SPID SMART Centre (supported by TMF), she saw an opportunity to excel in the hospitality sector. She decided to join the course.

During the program, Nisha faced numerous obstacles including financial difficulties. Undeterred, she diligently worked on improving her communication skills and acquiring relevant skillsets for the hospitality industry. Tech Mahindra Foundation’s employability program SMART consistently prioritised aligning students with existing industry trends. With a newfound confidence in her abilities, Nisha started to appear for interviews. After completing the course, she was finally selected as an F & B Service Executive at Nando’s Karnataka Restaurants Pvt. Ltd.

Now, she could bear her family’s financial responsibilities to ease the burden on her mother’s shoulders. Nisha’s dedication and positive attitude at work did not go unnoticed, and she received recognition for her dedication at the workplace too. Her story exemplifies that with determination and the right support, anyone can grow in their career.
