IPD Coordinator at Satyam Fortis Hospital, Mohali

Seema comes from a big family sized with thirteen members. Her father runs a tea stall and her mother helps manage the home. She always had the zeal to do something in her life and make herself self-sufficient. She was supported by her family to pursue her dreams which helped her seek skilled career options to begin her career. She heard about the SMART Academy of Healthcare in Mohali from her friend’s mother and how they supported with placements after completion of the course.

Seema did not have enough money to sponsor her fees to complete her education but with support from the Academy, she was able to enrol for the four-month General Duty Assistant (GDA) course. She learned English and performed various activities that helped build her self-confidence at the Academy. With support from the placement team, she got placed at Satyam Fortis Hospital Mohali and in her words is empowered to buy anything of her choice while contributing a partial salary to her family to manage the family expenses.

Seema is a confident girl today and believes “Whenever a girl stands on her own feet, she can see the pride in the eyes of her family”. Her family is better placed with her support and can save for the future of their children.
