Sandeep Kumar now trains other teachers at the District Institute for Education and Training, where he prepares other teachers for the challenges they may find in the classroom. It is also a transformation for which he profoundly and thoroughly credits the ITEI-EDMC for bringing about.
“I have attended sessions for almost all subject areas and domains. It has not only been a refreshing change from the usual daily routine, but it has also helped me a great deal to grow as a teacher,” reasons Sandeep!
The demands of the world are very quickly changing, and that means the preparation of the population that is to live in it, needs to be perfect. While it was never easy to be or to become a teacher, becoming one in the modern world is a challenging feat. “I did not become this way overnight, it was a long and painful process, and I have had to make sacrifices on the way! However, I had help. The Institute has been instrumental in enhancing my efficiency as a teacher. For the last four years, I have been growing with it,” he confidently declares.
Every individual has a set of needs. Apart from the basic needs of food and shelter, different things drive different people. Through these sessions, he has identified what his needs are. For Sandeep, his personal growth is as big an incentive as is the growth of his students is.
That he knows what drives him is what makes him an excellent resource for his students to look up to! “Ever since I began attending sessions to enhance my pedagogy, I feel more confident not only as a teacher but also as a support system for the local community. I can reach out to the parents and students and ensure that the home life of my students is also positively impacted by what they learn in the classroom,” he shares his journey. The growing confidence of his students is proof that their all-round development has been the focus of their teacher.
When a teacher holds up their character, they can become the mirror the society needs. Sandeep’s growth as a resource is evidence of just that!
