Respecting the resources & nature

Ms. Lalita Maurya

A teacher supported at our Shikshaantaar program in Delhi (ITEI-NDMC)

Lalita Maurya started her career as a teacher in her early twenties and has come a long way with sharpened skills and improved ways of teaching. She holds rich eleven years of experience where she overcame a myriad of challenges and mastered the skill of multitasking.

Always excited to learn, Lalita is a Mentor Teacher at Uttar Nigam Utkrishta Vidyalaya in Karol Bagh, Delhi. She is happy to share her transformation as a teacher courtesy workshops conducted at ITEI-NDMC. “It has been a journey full of learning with the faculty members at ITEI NDMC, their humble attitude and academic interactions were worth admiration.”- says Lalita.

With her positive energy, Lalita lights up her classroom. She understands the ordeals of first-generation learners at the MCD schools and tries to comfort them in the best possible ways. Designing assignments and projects to help her students understand the concepts better is her way of improving their basics. She wants her students to be active participants in her classroom.

Sharing her motto, she says “There are so many people working towards improving the quality of education. We should imbibe any positive quality we find in people or institutions.” During her school days, one of her teacher who was differently-abled taught her to never let her weaknesses come in her way to succeed and how to overpower them with her abilities. She believes that good people can change anything with their dedication. Her focus stands clear on developing civic sense in her students and makes them understand the value of resources. Moreover, respect for nature and each other is a value she instills in her students.

Lalita highlights the great responsibility and hardships of being a teacher. “Our challenges are negligible as compared to our duties. If we wish to be true patriots, we can achieve it by doing our duty faithfully. We can contribute a lot to the nation through our work.”- she says.

It is indeed a moment of pride for her when her students achieve something.
