Defying Odds, Sarah Mukadam Gets a Job Abroad
Salah Mukadam
Student from TEACH ARISE+ Project, Mumbai
Salah Mukadam, a B. Com graduate from the Training and Educational Centre for Hearing Impaired (TEACH), TMF ARISE+ partner, inspired many when he became the first student in the institute to secure a job abroad.
Salah faced early struggles in understanding English and other subjects because of his speech and hearing impairment. His elder sister, who also has speech and hearing impairment, motivated him to pursue higher education.
“I learned about TEACH from a friend of mine,” recalled Salah, highlighting the importance of peer influence. Before joining TEACH, he struggled with language barriers and academic challenges. With support from the staff, subjects became more accessible to him, and Salah’s learning skills improved significantly. One thing that stood out about Salah was his quick understanding of Finance and his appetite to learn more. Within three months, he started making payment entries in SAP without anyone’s help.
The training played a pivotal role in preparing him for the challenges ahead. Salah was ambitious and always wanted to make his parents proud. Determined to shine, he worked hard with the resources available and got placed as a Trainee in Accounts in Sharjah, UAE. Salah now dreams of joining an MBA program soon.
