Being Strong and Confident

Some are born strong while some make themselves strong because of their circumstances. When we talk about being strong, let us share the story of Suraj, who never gave up on life no matter how adverse the situation was. 

While growing up, Suraj saw his family struggle financially and he always wanted to help his father to support his family. He was the eldest among his siblings and soon after completing his studies, he started looking for jobs but was unable to find a stable one due to the COVID pandemic. One day, when one of his friends recommended him to join the SMART Centre, Suraj saw a ray of hope to fulfil his dream to get a decent job and help his family.

On 1st December 2020, Suraj joined our Data Management course at the SMART Bal Vikas Dhara Centre in Delhi. He was an enthusiastic student who wanted to achieve great things in life but when the lockdown was announced due to the COVID pandemic, life became difficult for him. 

“The online classes were totally new for me and I was unable to understand anything that was taught in the class. Often I thought of leaving the classes,” says Suraj. When he shared his problems with the trainers at the Centre, they found that most of the students were facing the same issue. Thus, the facilitators started teaching most of the topics through activities and demonstrations. “This new method of teaching was really helpful, and during the online classes, our trainers regularly shared their screens with us to give any demo. These virtual classes were like live classes for most of us“, says the young boy from Amroha, a small village in Uttar Pradesh.

On completing his training, Suraj was offered a job at Instakart Services PVT LTD. He joined his first job on 1st April 2021 and says “I was very happy when I was selected. It is a matter of great happiness and pride for me and my family.“

Suraj extends his gratitude to his trainers at the SMART Centre for guiding and making him confident to find his place in life.
