Arisha’s Remarkable Career Journey Against All Odds

Arisha has travelled a long road of challenges to become the independent woman she is today. Born and raised in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad, Arisha grew up with a disability in her leg. With bright academic records, and passion for healthcare, she became enthusiastic about joining the healthcare sector. Her father also encouraged her to pursue her dreams in this field. But tragedy struck, and she lost both her parents. With her brother as her only support, she decided to move forward and explore career opportunities in the healthcare sector.

She came to know about the skilling courses offered at the Tech Mahindra SMART Academy for Healthcare in New Delhi from a teacher. She enrolled in the Dialysis Technician Diploma course and diligently worked hard to learn the necessary skills. Her on-the-job training sessions in the Academy helped her land her first job in a private hospital in New Delhi. Arisha met multiple detractors about continuing in the job due to her disability. But she found strength in the support of her colleagues and seniors and started to shine in her workplace. She is now one of the first women from her neighbourhood to be financially independent. Refusing to let her circumstances hold her back, she has remained resolute in achieving her and her father’s dream. She now encourages women everywhere to pursue their dreams relentlessly.
