Aniket Bhirud, an associate from Mumbai is a passionate volunteer. He has led number of key CSR initiatives and is a role model for all CSR volunteers. The Mahindra group has recognised his volunteering efforts and awarded him Runner-up position in the Mahindra ESOPS Star Performer Awards 2016. Mahindra ESOPS is a platform for recognising volunteers who go beyond the call of duty in improving the social fabric of society. He is the only associate from Tech Mahindra to have won an award this year. Tech Mahindra Foundation is spotlighting his volunteering journey.
It all started with his passion for football. "Football is my first love and I am always in to teach the students." From there Aniket and his team started contributing through their passion and skill teaching football to boys of Adarsh Vidyalaya Urdu medium school during their Summer Camp.
However, Football wasn’t limited to the boys, the fever passed on to the girl students in the Urdu medium school who Aniket and his team taught enthusiastically.
This continued and Aniket was now a part of the Tech Mahindra Foundation CSR Team in Mumbai. He owned the first event of the World Environment Day that attracted most senior leaders who watched the street play on ‘Saving Mother Earth’ that was well appreciated by leaders and associates.
Since then there has been no looking back for Aniket. He kept giving big hits in the events he executed with the immense support and involvement of the growing Tech Mahindra Foundation’s CSR Team members.
Job readiness event was one such big event where SMART students were trained in grooming and were mentored for group discussions, resume writing, mock interviews and more. This event involved multi-tasking, multiple level coordination with leaders, associates, registrations, organisation. Aniket with his fellow Team members executed it well.
Some of these students also secured a job in Tech Mahindra and that is where this event made a huge difference in the lives of students. "Little did I knew that these events touch lives and since then, this has motivated me to keep doing what we all are doing," addresses Aniket in many volunteering events.
From March 2016, Aniket has emerged as a Volunteering Events CSR Team Lead and drove the team of 5-15+ CSR Team members. He has not only motivated volunteers to be part of the team, but screened the passionate volunteers with his fellow colleagues and got them involved in the team to drive many more such events at Tech Mahindra office and outside.
