SMART-Technical Centre Inaugurated In Belur Math

5th April 2016

Dear friends,

There was a nip in the air; the crisp morning breeze blew across the Ganges as the Kolkata team stepped into Belur Math on Friday morning. 1st April was a milestone for the team as they completed three years of work in the City of Joy.

The serenity of the surroundings, the imposing structures of the Math, the prevailing calm and tranquility set the stage for the inauguration of the newest SMART-Technical center in partnership with Ramakrishna Mission Shilpamandira, Belur Math. The program will train students in two trades, automobile mechanic and AC & refrigeration repairing.

Three years ago Tech Mahindra Foundation began its journey in Kolkata with the objective of enabling young people to gain employment skills. With this objective four SMART projects, three SMART technical programs and one SMART + initiative have come up.

It has been an arduous journey. But friends, we are happy to share with you that some of our good success stories have come from Kolkata.

The challenges have only increased our grit and resilience to excel and work harder to bring a positive change in the lives of many more young people in India.

We also take this opportunity to congratulate the Kolkata and Bhubaneswar team for their extraordinary efforts and dedication. Shine on!

Warm Regards,
Tech Mahindra Foundation
